WWE "gave up" with Wyatt Sicks' match before RAW started this week, claims wrestling veteran (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about The Wyatt Sicks kicking off RAW this week. The ghoulish faction was in a Street Fight against American Made.

Uncle Howdy watched from his rocking chair as the Wyatt Sicks decimated American Made in an Eight-Person Mixed Tag Team Street Fight. The two stables fought hard, hitting each other with any foreign object they could lay their hands on. During the match's final stages, Howdy hit Sister Abigail on one of the Creed Brothers, allowing Dexter Lumis to pick up the win with an aerial dive.

This week on The Coach & Bro show, Russo claimed WWE kicked off the show with the Street Fight, assuming their fans would tune into Monday Night Football later in the night. He felt the creative had already given up before the show even started. The veteran writer pointed out this was never the case during the Attitude Era, and the creative back then tried to compete with whatever game was on.

"During the Attitude Era, when we went head-to-head with Monday Night RAW, we wanted to win. We wanted to beat Monday Night Football. This past week, Coach, they put the best match of the show first, assuming everybody's gonna watch Monday Night Football. They literally waved the white flag. We're gonna hope you watch the Groovie Ghoulies (Wyatt Sicks) against American Made. We're gonna put that on first. Once this is over, then you can go to Monday Night Football. That's exactly what they did. They gave up before the show even started," Russo said. [From 34:55 onwards]

With the win, the Wyatt Sicks have established themselves as a dominant force on the RAW roster. It will be interesting to see if they continue the feud with American Made or move on to bigger and better things.
