WWE could go back to a huge old Kevin Owens rivalry, veteran feels feud "still has life" (Exclusive)

All the hints on WWE TV suggest Kevin Owens will most likely go back to being a full-blown heel. Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell revealed on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk podcast that WWE could consider rebooking KO's rivalry with Sami Zayn.

Kevin is currently scheduled to face Randy Orton at the Crown Jewel 2024 Premium Live Event, and in recent weeks, has been quite visibly frustrated with his allies. KO has a long history of turning against his buddies and is gradually leaning into his ruthless villainous side.

During the latest Smack Talk episode, Dutch Mantell felt a storyline between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn still had the potential to draw fans' attention. The real-life best friends last teamed up together and are presently involved in different angles. The Bloodline connection could always lead them back on the same path and Mantell would like to see another feud between KO and Zayn.

"Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, that's still got life in it. They can go back to that, they didn't wear it out. They cut it, really, a little bit short but they can always go back to that. That's what bookers are always looking forward to when they separate two guys. I've said this a thousand times on this show. Wrestling fans have long memories and they don't forget," Dutch Mantell said. [49:08 - 49:41]

Dutch Mantell also mentioned Sami Zayn's ability to develop an angle effectively with his promos.

Zayn might not be a physically intimidating wrestler but Mantell felt that the former Intercontinental Champion's undeniable equation with fans could be exploited by WWE in another showdown with Kevin Owens.

"It would be easy because Sami is so good on the horn anyway. He would get out there and he'd start talking, 'Hey man, you've got heart.' Then let Kevin turn on him and he is almost red-hot. The fans love Sami Zayn. He may not be 260 pounds and cut up like Adonis, but they have got a connection to him and that's not going away anytime soon," Dutch Mantell said. [49:45 - 50:12]
