WWE Hall of Famer blasts Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff for being "willing to take away" his career-defining moment

During the final years of WCW, there were a plethora of things going awry for the company before WWE bought it out. The reasons ranged from poor creative control to disagreements within the locker room. At the time, Hulk Hogan had somewhat creative control over the product, and he has been, at times, along with others, criticized for using it for his own benefit.

Recently, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Booker T. opened up about his negative experience with Hogan and Bischoff and the creative control that the duo enjoyed. The latest episode of 'Who Killed WCW?' features various perspectives on what led to the company's demise. Following the airing of a recent episode, Eric Bischoff said that he was disappointed after Booker T. claimed on the show that Hulk Hogan wanted the title for himself and used his creative control to achieve the same.

During the latest episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer responded to Bischoff's comments. He detailed his feelings and discussed how Hulk Hogan and Bischoff almost ruined Bash at the Beach 2000 for him—the night he first won the World Heavyweight Championship.

"Say, for instance, Hulk Hogan wins the World Title that night. What would that do for Hulk Hogan's career? He was a multi-millionaire at that point in time. He had done movies; he had done everything. He had been the World Champion everywhere. What would that have done for Hulk Hogan's career? Would the company not have gone under if Hulk Hogan would've won the World Championship?" he said.

Booker T. further explained the importance of that moment in light of recent discourse.

"I knew I was winning the world championship at least two or three days before that night. Somebody called me and told me. I knew that; Bischoff knew it; Hogan knew it; everybody knew it. Why I'm so disappointed [is because] Bischoff and Hulk Hogan were willing to take away my moment that night. If I hadn't won that night, who knows if I would've ever won the World Championship? Who knows where my career would've went?" he added. [From 0:30 to 1:45]

Booker T. went on to have a successful career in WWE!

Following his first title win, Booker went on to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship multiple times before WWE bought the company. Upon his arrival in the company, the former King of the Ring was featured in a feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin and presented as a top star for years.

He was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, once in 2013, and then in 2019 as part of Harlem Heat.

It seems that Bischoff and Booker are currently at odds with one another following the different takes that have emerged from ''Who Killed WCW?'' It will be interesting to see if the former RAW General Manager reacts to Booker's comments in the coming days.
