WWE Hall of Famer comments on a potential in-ring return; last match took place over a year ago

WWE Hall of Famers etch their names in the company's history books forever. However, the illustrious induction alongside other legends isn't enough for a few to call it a day. Beth Phoenix recently commented on a potential in-ring return.

In 2012, Beth Phoenix retired from in-ring competition as she wanted to focus on her family after being on the road for years. The Glamazon has been at the top of the women's division on different occasions and eventually got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame where she joined the list alongside her husband Edge and other WWE legends.

Apart from a few sporadic appearances, Phoenix hasn't competed in a while. In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet of INSIGHT, Beth addressed a potential in-ring return and stated it depends on the opportunities provided to her:

“I don’t know. It’s really hard to say you’re retired, when I left in 2012 that was the word I threw around a lot. I’m retired, I’m retired. Because I wanted to have a family and I knew for myself that wasn’t going to be in congruence to perform and to have kids, I needed to devote myself to the kids at that time. I give the age-old cliche answer that everybody hates, never say never. But it really just depends on the opportunities and what suits our family, that’s really it," Phoenix said. [H/T - CVV]

Beth Phoenix hasn't competed since WWE Elimination Chamber 2023

In 2022, Edge was forced out of the faction he created when Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley, and Damian Priest turned on him. A few months later, Beth Phoenix returned to WWE television and aided Edge against his battle with The Judgment Day.

However, she was quickly taken out by Rhea Ripley in October when she appeared at Extreme Rules 2022. During an 'I Quit' match between Finn Balor and Edge, The Eradicator forced The Rated-R Superstar to quit and attacked The Glamazon with a steel chair.

In the coming months, 'The Grit Couple' returned to the Stamford-based company and immediately went after The Judgment Day. At Elimination Chamber 2023, Edge and Beth Phoenix defeated Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day in a Mixed Tag Team Match. This was Phoenix's last match for WWE as she's currently a free agent.
