WWE Hall of Famer not in favor of The Rock facing 47-year-old megastar at WrestleMania (Exclusive)
WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long recently spoke about a possible matchup for The Rock at WrestleMania 41. He discussed the possibility of The Final Boss facing John Cena one last time.
The Rock and Cena have a long history from back in the day. They hated each other and headlined back-to-back WrestleManias in 2012-13. While The People's Champ won the first encounter, the 47-year-old megastar got his revenge at WrestleMania 29, also winning the WWE Championship in the process.
In a recent clip from The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy detailed that he was not in favor of another Rock vs. Cena encounter, despite veteran journalist Bill Apter suggesting the possibility. Long felt this was not the best use of either star's schedule. He felt both stars could be used for other feuds, given that they had already faced each other in the past.
"I hope not." Teddy added, "That's not what I want to see again, man. No disrespect to either one of them. That's just, I don't know," [From 1:40 onwards]
The Rock recently showed up at Bad Blood earlier this month. In a video package that emerged on social media, The Final Boss expressed his unhappiness over how things have panned out in the company over the last six months.
It will be interesting to see what impact The Rock's return has on The Bloodline story and how it leads to a matchup for The Final Boss at The Show of Shows.
