WWE Hall of Famer furious over Randy Orton's appearance on RAW to challenge Gunther due to a major reason
WWE Superstar Randy Orton made his presence felt on the post-SummerSlam 2024 edition of Monday Night RAW. The Viper challenged the newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion Gunther to a match. However, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray is upset that the company failed to offer a satisfactory explanation for Orton's appearance on the red brand, given that he is a member of the SmackDown roster.
At The Biggest Party of the Summer, The Ring General defeated Damian Priest to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. He celebrated his first-ever world title win on RAW, which was seemingly cut short after the 14-time World Champion showed up.
During the segment, Randy Orton recounted his match against Gunther at the King and Queen of the Ring. He recalled an unfortunate botch when the referee counted the pinfall despite one of The Viper's shoulders being up. The 44-year-old veteran also mentioned that Triple H acknowledged the error and let Orton subsequently challenge The Imperium leader for the title at Bash in Berlin.
On the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray expressed frustration, stating that the former WWE Champion should have offered a more detailed explanation regarding The Game's approval of his brand switch from SmackDown to RAW.
"He [Orton] brought up Hunter [Triple H] so much that I would have loved to have heard (...) 'Hunter knows I'm here, he said it was okay to be here.' That's all I would have liked to have heard (...) This way, I don't feel like somebody's just jumping over for no reason," said Ray.
The WWE Hall of Famer added:
"Everything you said was legitimate as far as what has happened in the past, but I still don't know how Randy Orton was just allowed to show up on RAW without it being because, and once again they [WWE] are not sticking to the Draft." [From 01:11 to 01:47]

Bully Ray says Gunther will pin Randy Orton clean at WWE Bash in Berlin
During the same episode of the Busted Open podcast, the WWE legend predicted the finish of The Viper vs. The Ring General at the premium live event in Germany.
Bully Ray speculated that Gunther would defeat Randy Orton cleanly in their upcoming title match at Bash in Berlin. The Hall of Famer suggested that the match could potentially end in a similar fashion to the classic Ricky Steamboat versus Ric Flair encounter at the 1989 Chi-Town Rumble.
"A [Ric] Flair and [Ricky] Steamboat finish is what probably makes the most sense. Do I want to see Gunther go over Randy [Orton]? Yes. Do I want to see Gunther beat Randy Orton with his finish...Where Gunther covers Randy one... two... three... and Randy's still on his back? Absolutely not. You know how I want to see Gunther win? With a small package, with an inside cradle, or with a backslide," he said.
Only time will tell if The Apex Predator does manage to beat Gunther at the Uber Arena on August 31 to become a 15-time World Champion.
