WWE Hall of Famer names one thing young wrestlers should learn from CM Punk; gives honest thoughts on his injuries from Hell in a Cell

CM Punk went to war against Drew McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood 2024. Both men left the State Farm Arena bruised up, with The Scottish Warrior having multiple stitches on his head. Just a couple of days after his grueling Hell in a Cell match, Punk managed to show up on RAW this week, addressing his future.

The Best in the World showed signs of injuries and stated that he was right about having no Hell in a Cell match left in him. Punk also added that he does not know when he would be back in the ring, which further solidifies the fact that the match at Bad Blood 2024 was indeed insane.

During a recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, Bully Ray was asked about Punk's segment when the latter stated how good it was. The WWE Hall of Famer appealed to the young wrestlers to learn from the Second City Saint how to sell their injuries and the after-effects of the gruesome matches.

"So, 48 hours later, and he's (CM Punk) still selling the effects of Hell in a Cell, still selling the effects of the war with Drew, still selling the effects of everything that he got hit with, including an incredible Claymore. Drew hit a Claymore on Punk, and Punk took it straight in the mush perfectly," Bully Ray said. [0:58 - 1:26]

Bully Ray went on:

"I loved it. I loved the limp. I loved the Band-Aids on the face. I loved the grabbing of the ribs. It tells me that the match is legitimate. Young wrestlers, take note: Sell, sell, sell. And when you're done selling, sell some more." [1:27 - 1:56]

What is next for CM Punk after WWE Bad Blood 2024?

While CM Punk clearly hinted that he was going on a break for a few weeks, WWE already teased the big feud he might have once he makes his return. After the Best in the World was done addressing fans, Seth Rollins made his way out on RAW.

While Rollins had some other business to handle, he stood face-to-face with Punk. Not only that, but The Visionary, during his promo on the red brand, stated that he wants the 45-year-old star to return soon so that he could retire him for good. With that being said, it is clear that a Seth Rollins-CM Punk rivalry is on the horizon.

Fans will have to wait and see what happens when Punk makes his return to the ring.
