WWE Hall of Famer points out major flaw with The Wyatt Sicks; offers solution for on-going rivalry
The Wyatt Sicks has been terrorizing the WWE RAW roster for the past few months. A WWE Hall of Famer recently pointed out a major flaw in the group’s presentation and offered a solution for their current rivalry.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray is an ardent follower of RAW and SmackDown and knows what goes into the product behind the scenes to make it successful. The Wyatt Sicks stable was built on a lot of expectations, but the stars are yet to get ahead on the brand.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray noted that The Wyatt Family members were not gimmick-heavy and had a lot to give in the ring. However, the same disappeared once The Fiend came to life as the entire presentation was gimmick-heavy. The same was the problem with Uncle Howdy's faction.
"When The Wyatt Family originally started it was about Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Erick Rowan, and (Luke Harper). Those were four men that came together; they weren't real gimmicky, like these new characters are gimmicky," Ray critiqued. "When The Fiend came around, which was extremely gimmicky, my concern was — What happens when the bell rings? And that seemed to affect The Fiend's character, we saw what happened at Hell in a Cell with Seth Rollins. So, when The Wyatt Sicks debuted, I had the exact same feeling about them," the WWE Hall of Famer said.
His doubts about the group made him question what could make the group special. Bully Ray noted that after a certain number of appearances and gimmicks, it was important for the stars to deliver in the ring.
He noted that Karrion Kross could do a lot to elevate The Wyatt Sicks and get fans emotionally invested in the faction.
"If Karrion Kross and The Final Testament were ever to leave The Wyatt Sicks laying, I think you get more sympathy on this group and there is your angle," Ray said. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
The Wyatt Sicks kidnapped The Miz on WWE RAW
The Miz is acting as the bridge between two of RAW’s top factions. The Final Testament worked well to break up Awesome Truth, but the group has been unable to defend The Miz.
The latest edition of RAW saw Miz trying to reconcile with R-Truth to escape The Wyatt Sicks’ wrath. Instead, he was met with a punch from the veteran.
Later on, Uncle Howdy's group kidnapped The A-Lister to get the story going. Karrion Kross showed little interest in finding the WWE veteran, stating that he must already be dead by now.
It’ll be interesting to see how this story unfolds in the coming weeks and if WWE can get both groups over with the rivalry. There’s a lot of potential in both factions.
