WWE Hall of Famer reacts to Gunther breaking an old Vince McMahon rule

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray took to social media to react to Gunther breaking an old Vince McMahon rule on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW. The Ring General cut a promo during the show that contained a phrase that was banned under the previous regime.

When Vince McMahon was still running WWE, superstars were forbidden from doing or saying certain things on TV. Words such as "wrestling", "wrestlers" and "professional wrestling" were banned, while "sports entertainment" and "entertainers" was preferred. However, after Triple H took control, the word wrestling started getting used more often without consequences.

On this week's RAW, footage aired during the show of Gunther cutting a promo in an empty arena before the show. His message was directed at Jey Uso, who he wrestled in the main event in the semi-finals of the King of the Ring tournament. During his promo, the former Intercontinental Champion said:

“It's about who’s a better professional wrestler when that bell rings.”

Bully Ray was surprised that the RAW star mentioned the words 'professional wrestler,' and he took to X to state that WWE has come a long way as things have changed significantly.

The IMPERIUM leader defeated Jey Uso on RAW after locking him in a submission hold. He is very close to becoming the next King of the Ring.
