WWE Hall of Famer on Rhea Ripley potentially making a blunder: "We just have to wait to see" (Exclusive)
WWE star Rhea Ripley's recent decision to post about her wedding with Buddy Matthews has surprised quite a few people. However, Hall of Famer Teddy Long believes this will probably not interfere with her character and storylines in the Stamford-based promotion.
The Eradicator recently married AEW star Buddy Matthews. Shortly afterward, she posted a picture on social media. While this may not seem like much, it did ruffle the feathers of quite a few critics, who believed that her breaking character was harmful to her run in WWE.
In a recent episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Teddy Long was asked whether Rhea Ripley's decision to break character would create problems for her. The WWE Hall of Famer stated:
"Well, I mean, I should hope not. I mean the girl's getting married, and they wanna celebrate their wedding. You know what I mean, like I tell you all the time, this is not real," Long noted. "So I hope that wouldn't interfere with whatever they gotta do with her, cause I think Rhea Ripley is a hell of a nice girl. She's a great worker in the ring, and she has a lot of heat. So, we just have to wait to see what happens, but you know, she's celebrating her wins, wanted people to know." [5:58 onwards]
Bill Apter made another prediction about the WWE star
According to veteran journalist Bill Apter, Rhea Ripley may be leaving the Judgment Day soon after her return.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, Apter put forth his theory that Rhea and Damian will splinter off from the group and form an alliance of just the two.
"What I think is gonna happen is that she is gonna pair with Damian Priest, who I think might lose the world championship to Seth 'Freakin' Rollins at Money in the Bank, and then he is forced to break away from Judgment Day. And I think Rhea is gonna come back, be all PO'd about the whole thing with Liv Morgan infiltrating the Judgment Day, and it's gonna be she and Damian Priest as their own kind of separate entity then, feuding against Liv Morgan and Dominik, Finn Balor. That's what I think is gonna happen," Apter said.
As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for Rhea Ripley in WWE.
