WWE Hall of Famer's estranged husband forced to work in construction; claims it was beneath him
WWE is set to host its final few premium live events of the year, and a series of unfortunate events have occurred around the same time in a Hall of Famer's personal life. The star is Nikki Bella (aka Nikki Garcia) and she recently spoke about her estranged husband's anger issues, including his move to construction.
Recently, Nikki Bella's personal life took a terrible turn following a domestic violence incident with her husband, Artem Chigvintsev. The WWE Hall of Famer has filed for divorce, and a restraining order has been granted to Chigvinstev as Bella was reportedly the primary aggressor during the tragic event.
In Bella's filing against her separated husband, People Magzine pointed out that Chigvintsev was forced to change professions after being cut from the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars. Bella, in her filing, claimed that he felt the construction job was beneath him and increasingly grew angry, which led to further problems in their relationship.
"He had begun work at a construction job and felt it was beneath him... Since being cut from Dancing with the Stars, Artem had been growing increasingly angry, snapping at me, and yelling. We had discussions about his need to control his anger," Bella said in her official filling.
The two are separated and are due in court as well, and no criminal charges were filed against Chigvintsev.
Nikki and Brie Bella are WWE Hall of Famers
Nikki and Brie Bella were once the faces of the Divas era as the twins were one of the most successful duos in the Stamford-based promotion. The two captured the Divas Championship and Nikki was once the longest-reigning Divas Champion in the promotion's history.
Later, The Bella Twins slowly moved away from professional wrestling and made sporadic appearances for WWE. After having a few short runs with WWE, the two were announced for the Hall of Fame in 2020 as The Bella Twins. However, the induction took place in 2021.
The COVID-19 pandemic delayed their induction, and the two eventually made one final appearance in the Women's Royal Rumble in 2022. In 2023, they revealed they were no longer with the company and hadn't signed any deal with the Stamford-based promotion.
