WWE Hall of Famer's return after 14 years at Saturday Night's Main Event has Dutch Mantell excited (Exclusive)
WWE is treating Saturday Night's Main Event like a major PLE by packing it with some big moments. Jesse "The Body" Ventura will be on commentary for the first time in 14 years at the event, and Dutch Mantell was thrilled about the announcement.
Jesse Ventura spent his best years as a color commentator and was eventually inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004. The former governor of Minnesota recently even signed a new deal with WWE and was in attendance at the latest SmackDown episode in Minneapolis.
Dutch Mantell was quite pleased to see Ventura on the blue brand this week and also reacted to his impending return to the commentary team for one night only at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Ventura last did commentary duties at the TLC PLE in 2009, and Dutch Mantell admitted listening to the legendary star at Saturday Night's Main Event was one of the reasons he'd watch it:
"That was good! He is going to do some commentary, right? Very good. That's another thing I would tune in, just to listen to him. How long has it been since Jesse has been commentating for WWE? 35, 40 years? Okay, a long time ago. Anyway, in Minneapolis, he is synonymous. It was good to see him tonight, he looked good." [35:30 onwards]
The change of guard within WWE has led to many surprising names returning to the promotion. Jesse Ventura donning the headphones again at Saturday Night's Main Event will surely be a nostalgic moment for many fans.
