WWE Hall of Famer sends three-word message to Asuka following unfortunate update
WWE Superstar Asuka recently shared an unfortunate injury update on social media. Wrestling legend Bully Ray has sent his best wishes to the Damage CTRL member.
The 42-year-old last competed in a match at WWE Backlash: France last month, defending the Women's Tag Team Championship at the premium live event against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. The Empress of Tomorrow and her tag team partner, Kairi Sane, fought valiantly but could not stop the newly formed tag team from becoming the new champions.
The former WWE Women's Grand Slam Champion took to X/Twitter to share another picture of herself from a hospital bed. Responding to the X/Twitter post, one-half of the former tag team champion Bully Ray sent his good wishes to the Japanese performer:
"Get well soon!! 💪🏻🤘🏻," he wrote.
Former WWE champion names Asuka as dream opponent
Asuka is arguably one of the best female in-ring performers in WWE. The Damage CTRL member has had several dominating championship reigns across all three brands.
During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Sonya Deville named The Empress of Tomorrow her favorite opponent. The 30-year-old recalled her matches with the latter in WWE NXT. The former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion further expressed her desire to compete against the Japanese star on the main roster for the first time:
“I’ve had a million matches with her but not a lot televised, and never a singles televised to my knowledge. Asuka is one of my favourite opponents. We would have awesome matches down in NXT seven years ago, eight years ago on live events and road loops. And it was my favourite match to this day, but we never got an angle on TV. And then it would be like, I go to RAW, she got to SmackDown, she go to SmackDown, I go to RAW and we just keep playing tag and not catching each other. So I was like, if I could paint the perfect picture, I would love to have like a two-three seg match with Asuka and just mess each other up," said Deville. [H/T - Chris Van Vliet]
The Damage CTRL members look out of sorts following their move to the red brand in the WWE Draft 2024. It remains to be seen if the heel faction can bounce back amid the absence of one of their top stars.
Asuka has been forced out of action due to her unfortunate injury. It remains to be seen what lies ahead for her faction members in the absence of the veteran performer.
