WWE Hall of Famer teases 'crazy stuff' will happen next year
A WWE Hall of Famer recently revealed his plans for next year, telling his fans to stay ready for big surprises. John Bradshaw Layfield, more famously known as JBL, teased some "crazy stuff" happening in 2025.
The former WWE Champion has not wrestled since his surprise appearance in the 2014 Royal Rumble match. He has been physical over the years and even served as Happy Corbin's manager from late 2022 to early 2023. He has also made several appearances outside the company this year, including TNA Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, and AAA in Mexico.
Speaking on Something To Wrestle with co-host Conrad Thompson, JBL was asked about his plans for 2025. The WWE legend teased his plans for next year, calling them "fun" and "crazy," which he has been preparing for since before the pandemic.
"I was thinking about that when I turned 58. I thought, 'This is gonna be the year that some fun stuff, crazy stuff's gonna happen.' I've been planning this for a while, and COVID happened, and I got bored. Been wanting to do some stuff in the wrestling business because it's what I love, it’s what I always wanted to do, and now I'm getting a chance to do it. I've got some plans coming up, so hopefully this year will be a year to be remembered," JBL said. [H/T Fightful]
JBL officially retired in 2009 at WrestleMania 25 after losing to Rey Mysterio in just 21 seconds. He has made sporadic appearances on WWE television over the years, but his venturing to other promotions this year is refreshing to see.
JBL feeling good physically for the first time since he was WWE Champion
In a post on X (fka Twitter), in October, JBL revealed that he received stem cell treatment in New Jersey to manage his pain. He claimed he felt better than he did in 20 years. He was the WWE Champion back in 2004, carrying SmackDown for the second half of that year.
"First time in a couple of decades, pain free and able to work out. Got stem cells from Integrated Pain Management in New Jersey-and my first workout, hard to believe I’m able to do things I couldn’t do for years. Comeback? Yeah, biggest since the resurrection," JBL tweeted.
The legendary wrestler turned 58 on November 29 and appeared to be in top shape. It will be interesting to see if JBL will return to the ring in 2025.
