WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker details last-minute WrestleMania XL appearance

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker hasn't left professional wrestling upon retirement from in-ring competition. Recently, he detailed how his WrestleMania XL appearance was a last-minute decision.

Earlier this year, The Undertaker was one of the few names who appeared in the main event of WrestleMania XL to assist Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline. The Deadman appeared and chokeslammed The Rock before vanishing into darkness.

However, The Undertaker recently revealed that his appearance wasn't planned months ahead of time leading up to the event in Philadelphia. In an interview with "Mighty" Demetrious Johnson, The Phenom revealed that the spot was discussed with Triple H just a few days before the event.

"I think it must've been late Tuesday night. I got a call from Triple H and he goes, 'Hey, we're thinking about this thing.' (...) 'There's nothing set in stone yet.' It was really vague. I said, 'If there's something that I can do, that will not distract from what you're trying to do, and everybody's on board with it. I'm there and I'll be happy to do whatever,'" he said. 'Taker also opened up about how his spot was executed on the day of the event:

"So Sunday, I'm sitting in the suite with my family and friends and watching it [WrestleMania XL]. All of a sudden I feel my phone going off and I look at it and I said, 'I'll be back in a bit' (...) Anyways, I go downstairs and meet with everybody and figure out what the deal is and boom! That's how fast it happened." [From 06:36 to 07:28]

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker spoke highly of Roman Reigns after WrestleMania XL

The Undertaker's appearance at WrestleMania XL changed the landscape of WWE forever as Cody Rhodes was able to topple Roman Reigns to finish his story. This marked the end of The Tribal Chief's legendary title reign where he held the title for over 1300 days in WWE.

Speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, The Deadman spoke highly of Roman Reigns and his contributions to the industry as one of the longest-reigning WWE Champions of all time after WrestleMania XL.

"There was a lot of really emotional moments backstage, as you can imagine. Roman coming back after, what an amazing run as champion. If you look at it and put it in today’s market, what a phenomenal run. It’s not going to go down in the record books as the longest world title run, but when you look at it in actuality, with as much coverage, as much media, as much exposure as you have now," he said.
