WWE insider comments on unfortunate rumor on Cody Rhodes' status (Exclusive)

Cody Rhodes made a plethora of headlines around the world when he defeated Gunther to become the inaugural Men's Crown Jewel Champion at the Crown Jewel 2024 Premium Live Event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The American Nightmare has not engaged in any particular feud since then and he might be looking for his next challenger.

With the Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 Premium Live Event fast approaching, the WWE Universe has been wondering who Rhodes would face at the PLE. However, a recent update revealed that Cody would rather miss the event.

During a live Q&A with Bill Apter on Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes addressed the rumors of Cody missing Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 and stated that it would be shocking. While the WWE insider did not give any updates on Rhodes' status, he believed that The American Nightmare missing the show without any injury scare would be a surprise for him as well:

"I haven’t heard outside of the rumors that are online. Personally, I would be stunned if a healthy Cody Rhodes missed one of the top five shows of the year. I would be stunned. Not to say can’t happen. Maybe there’s just no space on the show for him. That would be ridiculous. But again, I would be stunned." [29:52 onwards]

While Rhodes was anticipated to join the OG Bloodline in the 2024 Men's WarGames Match, Cody missing out on the show has taken the WWE Universe by surprise. However, the reason for his reported absence is still uncertain.

With Survivor Series: WarGames being one of the biggest PLEs of the year for the Stamford-based company, the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion missing the event must have a big reason involved. Fans will have to wait for any further updates on Rhodes' status for the upcoming show.
