WWE issues serious statement on OG Bloodline and CM Punk ahead of SmackDown
CM Punk and The OG Bloodline may have emerged victorious at Survivor Series 2024 last week, but their long-term association is still in question. WWE recently shared a statement, making it clear Punk was not a member of The Bloodline family yet.
Punk and Roman Reigns weren't on the same page for most parts during the WarGames match at the Saturday event. However, by the end of the grueling contest, the two chose to set aside their differences for the larger good. At one point in the match, The Second City Saint even saved The Original Tribal Chief from a Tsunami that Bronson Reed attempted from the top of the steel structure.
That said, Punk's partnership with the OG Bloodline is not expected to be long as the former had only agreed to help the stable in exchange for a favor from Paul Heyman. WWE recently shared a clip of Roman Reigns helping his stablemates after the win at Survivor Series 2024. However, he can be seen snubbing Punk.
Alongside the post, WWE wrote a caption, mentioning that even though CM Punk may have been instrumental in helping OG Bloodline win the WarGames match, he was far from being a part of their family.
Check out it out below:
"@cmpunk may have helped The OG Bloodline get the W… but that doesn’t make him family. Not even honorarily,☝️😤" the caption read.
WWE analyst Sam Roberts on what Paul Heyman's favor to CM Punk could be
On a recent episode of his NotSam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts discussed the much-talked-about favor that Heyman has to fulfill for CM Punk. The RAWTalk host predicted that The Second City Saint might have asked The Wiseman for a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship after Roman Reigns reclaims it.
"'You told me not to worry about WarGames, now WarGames is over, so what's the favor?' I personally still believe, as I believed after watching Survivor Series - the favor is going to end up being, 'My Tribal Chief, the favor is, that if and when you reclaim the WWE Championship, nay, your WWE Championship, than CM Punk will be able to call in an opportunity at the Championship whenever he desires.'"
For now, Punk has shifted his focus on Seth Rollins as part of their simmering feud. The two even came to blows on this week's WWE RAW.
