WWE legend chooses AJ Styles as a first-ballot Hall of Famer; says what he told him
AJ Styles has cemented himself as one of the most influential wrestlers of the past two decades. He has proved himself all over the world with successful runs in WWE, NJPW, and TNA.
In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Diamond Dallas Page praised AJ Styles. He called him one of the greatest of all time and a certified first-ballot Hall of Famer.
The WCW legend added that there were moments when he would text Styles to say that he was really Superman.
"AJ [Styles] is one of the greatest of all time and absolutely first-ballot Hall of Famer. I mean, he's phenomenal for shoot [for real], and there are times I'll just text him over the years, and I was like, 'You really are Superman,'" Diamond Dallas Page said. [54:36-54:53]
The Phenomenal One is currently out of action with a Lisfranc injury. He suffered the injury during a match against Carmelo Hayes on SmackDown a few months back. This condition can require anywhere from 4 to 12 months of recovery.
AJ Styles refused to get inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame
There was a rumor a few months back that TNA wanted to induct AJ Styles into their 2024 Hall of Fame. According to reports, WWE allegedly did not permit this. They wanted Styles to be inducted into the WWE HOF first.
Styles later debunked these claims. In a post on X/Twitter, he clarified that the decision not to enter the TNA Hall of Fame was entirely his own, and WWE did not influence it.
The 47-year-old stated he does not want to be inducted into any Hall of Fame as an active wrestler.
"I’m still an active wrestler…I hope. I made the decision not to go into the TNA HOF, not WWE. I appreciate TNA, but I don’t want to go into any HOF as long as I’m still active. My choice," AJ wrote.
It remains uncertain when Styles will be cleared for an in-ring return. Team Sportskeeda wishes him a speedy recovery.
