WWE legend to come out of retirement and face Logan Paul, Vince Russo predicts
Logan Paul has been the talk of the wrestling world over the last week. Vince Russo, WWE's former head writer, would not be surprised if The Maverick's latest comments lead to a match against legendary wrestler, Kevin Nash.
Paul recently spoke to two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan on his IMPAULSIVE podcast. During the interview, the former United States Champion admitted he was unaware of the wrestling terms "work" and "shoot." Nash criticized Paul's lack of knowledge on his Kliq This podcast, prompting the social media sensation to fire back with a scathing video online.
Russo said on his YouTube channel that he thinks WWE will capitalize on the back and forth by bringing the legend out of retirement to face Paul:
"I believe this started off as a shoot, but I believe they're gonna work this, bro. I would not be surprised whatsoever if you saw Kevin Nash make a comeback, maybe at a WrestleMania, who knows, with his opponent being Logan Paul. That would not surprise me, man." [7:53 – 8:20]
Nash has not competed in a WWE match since appearing in the 2014 Royal Rumble. In 2020, the 65-year-old confirmed his retirement from in-ring competition.
Why Vince Russo thinks Kevin Nash vs. Logan Paul could happen
In recent years, Kevin Nash has made sporadic appearances on WWE programming. The former nWo member is close friends with WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H, and even attended SummerSlam on August 3.
Vince Russo thinks Nash would be open to one more match if he received a good offer:
"Kevin Nash is a businessman, bro, and if Kevin Nash can get a huge payday to get in there with Logan Paul, bro, think about it, man. There are so many plusses on the side of Kevin Nash. Big payday from Endeavor, gets to be in there with Logan Paul, bro, who's got a huge, huge audience. I think it is a win-win for Kevin." [8:23 – 8:52]
Nash, also known as Diesel in WWE, was one of the biggest names in wrestling in the 1990s and 2000s. He is a five-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion and held the WWE Championship for 358 days between November 1994 and November 1995.
