WWE legend picks Cody Rhodes and two other top stars he'd have loved to face in his prime

WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes is currently the biggest face of the company after he finished his story at WrestleMania 40. Now, Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has revealed that he would have loved to share the ring with The American Nightmare and two other top wrestlers if he were younger.

The Heartbreak Kid came out of retirement in 2018 where he teamed up with Triple H to defeat The Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker & Kane) at the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event. The WWE legend's WrestleMania 26 - 'Career vs. Streak' match in 2010 against The Phenom was the farewell to his full-time professional wrestling career.

In a recent interview with The Schmo, Shawn Michaels unveiled his dream opponents if he could turn back time about twenty years. HBK named Rhodes, current WWE United States Champion Logan Paul, and the former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins as his top picks of today's era.

"I look at guys that I see now, a guy like Seth Rollins, I think I could get in there with and do fantastic stuff. Cody is another one. Logan Paul. He is somebody that is incredibly talented. There are a number of guys that I look at and I think to myself, 'If you were 20 years younger, wouldn't it be really cool?' I'm very happy with what I'm doing. The future of WWE is in great hands where it's going. I like my place behind the scenes now. We're part of a generation that never says goodbye, but I have no problem saying goodbye and looking towards the future," Michaels said. [H/T - Fightful]

Cody Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship at Clash at the Castle: Scotland

The Clash at the Castle: Scotland Premium Live Event is set to emanate from Ovo Hydro Arena, Glasgow, Scotland on June 15. The American Nightmare has put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line in an intriguing match format against the veteran, AJ Styles.

Rhodes successfully retained his championship against Styles at Backlash France. The Phenomenal One on a recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown faked his retirement and brutally attacked the 38-year-old champion. Last week on the blue brand show, Cody Rhodes called out Styles but Nick Aldis had security called up to prevent a brawl between the two men.

The American Nightmare then asserted to defend his title against The Phenomenal One in an "I Quit" Match at Clash at the Castle: Scotland. Only time will tell if Rhodes manages to defeat AJ Styles for the second time and send him packing.
