WWE legend says he is still friends with Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon has divided opinion with wrestling legends since being accused of sexual misconduct by former WWE employee Janel Grant. In a recent podcast episode, Kevin Nash made it clear how he felt about the 79-year-old.

Nash's Diesel character was the longest-reigning WWE Champion of the 1990s. Despite leaving for WCW in 1996, the nWo member maintained a good relationship with McMahon.

In a recent episode of his Kliq This podcast, Nash said he used to visit McMahon at television tapings when the former WWE Chairman was still in charge of creative. Discussing the release of the Mr. McMahon docuseries on Netflix, he revealed they are still friends to this day.

"I never would bother him close to showtime, but I always got a chance to see him because, I don't know, he was my friend," Nash stated. "He's still my friend." [1:29:48-1:30:01]

Nash was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as Diesel in 2015. In 2021, he received another induction as part of the 2020 class alongside the nWo.

Kevin Nash and Vince McMahon's most recent conversation

During his time with the Stamford-based promotion in the 1990s, Kevin Nash was part of a backstage group called The Kliq. Scott Hall, Sean Waltman, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H were the other members of the group.

Nash said The Kliq and WWE legend Batista were among the guests at Triple H's 50th birthday party in 2019. The two-time Hall of Famer spoke to Vince McMahon at the party and asked for his advice.

"The last time he and I talked was at Paul's [Triple H's] 50th. It was a lot of the family there. I think it was The Kliq. I want to think Dave Bautista [Batista] was the only other one of the boys that were there. Dave was there. We talked about a bunch of different s**t, still asking him [Vince McMahon] for some advice on a couple of things. 'How did you get from here...?' Just asking because you don't have a lot of billionaire friends, you know?" he added. [1:26:53-1:27:47]

In the same episode, Nash addressed whether he could come out of retirement following his online spat with former WWE United States Champion Logan Paul.
