WWE legend set for first match in 506 days; confirmed to team with Jade Cargill

A WWE legend is set to compete for the Stamford-based promotion for the first time in over a year. She is also confirmed to team up with Jade Cargill. The legend being referred to is Meiko Satomura.

Satomura signed for World Wrestling Entertainment in 2020 and started performing for the company's developmental brand in the United Kingdom. After winning the NXT UK Women's Championship she debuted NXT 2.0 in the United States. The legend's last match in WWE came against Roxanne Perez on the March 7, 2023, episode of the white and gold brand. Although the 44-year-old has not been featured in the Stamford-based promotion in over a year, she is still signed with the company as a coach.

Meiko Satomura recently took to Instagram to announce that she would be returning to the WWE ring during the company's Japan Tour set to take place on July 25, 26, and 27.

According to Masked Today, Satomura is set to team up with former Women's Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair. The trio will lock horns with Damage CTRL's IYO SKY, Kairi Sane, and Dakota Kai with Asuka by their side.

Big-name WWE Superstars recently wrestled in Japan

Ahead of the Stamford-based promotion's tour later this month, top names like IYO SKY and AJ Styles were recently in action in The Land of the Rising Sun. The Genius of the SKY locked horns with Utami Hayashishita at the 2024 Marigold Summer Destiny on July 13.

The Damage CTRL member showcased why she is one of the biggest stars on the Stamford-based promotion's main roster as she emerged victorious against the Japanese sensation. Meanwhile, The Phenomenal One also won his return match in Japan after he defeated Naomichi Marufuji at the 2024 Pro Wrestling NOAH Destination.

It will be interesting to see if Meiko Satomura will return to NXT after competing for World Wrestling Entertainment later this month.
