WWE looks set to change 32-year-old star's name once again

Superstars undergoing name changes have been a norm in WWE since Vince McMahon's regime. While the changes have not been regular under Triple H's leadership, there have been a few instances of moniker change under the new regime. One more could soon be added to this list, with Shotzi being the star in question this time.

The 32-year-old has been a part of the Stamford-based promotion since 2019. While she made her televised debut as Shotzi Blackheart, her name was shortened to Shotzi upon her main roster debut in 2021. The former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion has not done much in her run on the main roster and is currently sidelined due to an injury she suffered earlier this year.

It appears that Shotzi could return to action under her old ring name as WWE recently filed a trademark for Shotzi Blackheart. However, the trademark could also be for archival content and purposes.

Shotzi recently provided an update on her WWE return

Shotzi has been out of action since February this year when she suffered a torn ACL during her match against Lyra Valkyria. She recently provided an update on her status, noting that she was just a few months away from making a return.

The 32-year-old has been a part of the main roster since 2021 but has not been involved in many notable storylines. Before her injury, Shotzi was embroiled in an enthralling feud with Damage CTRL and even fought against the faction in the Women's War Games Match at Survivor Series 2023.

She returned to NXT earlier this year and even challenged the then-NXT Women's Champion for a title match. However, she suffered an injury during the bout and was ruled unable to compete.

The WWE Universe wants Shotzi to receive a push for the last few years. While the former champion looked set to feature more prominently on TV programming, another injury derailed her career.
