WWE made a mistake with Bronson Reed on RAW, according to Kevin Nash
Bronson Reed has featured prominently on WWE television in recent weeks. Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash likes the Australian's work but thinks his dominant character needs to be booked differently.
On the November 18 episode of RAW, Reed defeated Seth Rollins after Solo Sikoa caused a distraction at ringside. A week earlier, the powerhouse superstar showed a human side to his persona when he spoke eloquently during an in-ring promo.
Nash said on his Kliq This podcast that WWE's higher-ups should not humanize Reed by letting him speak. He also compared the RAW talent to fellow big man Braun Strowman.
"I think if you're a monster heel and you start to talk and you come across intelligent, you come across articulate, I thought watching RAW and watching that interview, you've got a guy that's been f***ing smashing people and now all of a sudden you just made him human. They did it with Braun Strowman," Nash said. [1:39:08 – 1:39:34]
Reed will join forces with Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 30. They will face Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, The Usos, and a to-be-determined fifth member.
Kevin Nash highlights a positive from Bronson Reed's promo
WWE fans often respond with the question "What?" when a heel wrestler pauses during in-ring promos. On November 11, Bronson Reed was interrupted with "What?" chants before silencing the crowd by speeding up his words.
While Kevin Nash would rather Reed did not talk at all, he gave the 36-year-old credit for dictating how the audience reacted:
"I will give him kudos because when he first started talking he was just gonna talk in his normal deal, but he heard a 'What?' start and he said, 'F**k that,' and, man, he tightened that s**t up and rattled it, and I was impressed by that." [1:09:25 – 1:09:47]
Nash also suggested a current WWE manager who could represent Reed and talk for him.
