WWE has major feud planned for CM Punk in 2025 (Exclusive)
CM Punk might be closing out 2024 without a title around his waist, but that doesn't mean he cannot turn his fate around next year. It seems WWE has some big plans for The Voice of The Voiceless when it comes to the world title picture.
Speaking during a recent episode of Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes provided a major update on WWE's plans involving CM Punk for 2025. The wrestling insider noted that the company has plans to book The Best in The World in a world title program next year.
"I've heard so many things on Punk, especially as of late, with Roman suff being thrown in there. But the one main factor that I've heard almost all year is that they want him to be involved in a world title match. I don't know how the puzzle pieces are going to fit. But you know, they want him at the top." [27:48 onwards]
However, WrestleVotes added that they don't see CM Punk taking on Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
"I don't think it'll be with Cody. So that's one title match out of the window. Does he fit into the other one? I'm gonna say yes at this point. [But] I don't think it's gonna be Gunther. That's the thing. I don't think it's Punk vs. Gunther. If they want him involved with the title then what do you do with Gunther?" [28:07 onwards]
Punk has already stated his goal is to win the world title. But for now, it seems, he wants to settle business with Seth Rollins. Both men will take on each other when RAW comes to Netflix on January 6.
It remains to be seen which superstar will walk out as the winner.
