WWE to make major announcement at upcoming event

WWE officials are closing in on another massive year for fans and the company. This was the first full calendar year since Endeavor finalized the merger between UFC and the Stamford-based promotion to form TKO. Officials are already working on blockbuster plans for 2025, and now a big announcement has been revealed for an upcoming event.

WWE Independent Development officially launched last week. The first-of-its-kind developmental program offers up-and-coming indie talents access to a potential career. Triple H believes the program will strengthen and raise the profile of the indie wrestling ecosystem. WWE Next In Line (NIL) launched in 2021, and then officials built WWE Independent Development (ID) to support indie prospects and wrestling schools with world-class training, mentorship, and development.

Booker T's Reality of Wrestling is one of the first schools to receive WWE ID official designation, which offers enhanced developmental opportunities to existing and new talents. The other schools are Cody Rhodes' Nightmare Factory in Atlanta, Seth Rollins' Black & Brave Academy in Davenport, Rikishi's KnokX Pro Academy in Los Angeles, and the Elite Pro Wrestling Training Center in Concord.

The first official ID recruit is set to be revealed in conjunction with Booker T's promotion. The official ID account on X responded to ROW today and teased that one of its wrestlers has been ID'd for special designation at Super Sunday, which is set for this coming weekend at Walker Texas Lawyer Arena in Texas City, TX.

"Someone's been ID'd... be there this Sunday to find out who [eyes emoji] #WID," they wrote.

Top indie talents will be identified via WWE ID prospect designation, which provides access to assistance with their journeys, including financial opportunities. For the fans, there will be curated, behind-the-scenes content, plus highlights and matches, to follow the prospects on all company social channels.

It's not clear if the new ID talent is already being advertised for the ROW show, but the following names and matches are also listed: Cam Cole vs. Ice Williams, ROW Texas Champion Ryan Davidson vs. Richard Holliday, Gino Medina and Alex Gracia.

WWE NXT Superstars set for ROW event

World Wrestling Entertainment had somewhat of a working relationship with Booker T's Reality of Wrestling promotion before the recent ID announcement, as various NXT Superstars have worked at ROW events. A NXT tag team has now been announced for Super Sunday.

NXT's Hank Walker and Tank Ledger have been announced for a trios match at the ROW event next weekend. They will team up with Will Allday to face Terrale Tempo, Luther, and Quentin Wynters. TNA's Moose and Joe Hendry are also scheduled for Sunday.

NXT's Josh Briggs worked ROW Gold Rush earlier in the summer, defeating Danny Limelight. Booker T was in the corner of then-ROW Champion Edge Stone when he was defeated by NXT's Oro Mensah back in July, not long after Lexis King of NXT defeated Ryan Davidson.
