WWE makes a huge announcement about a star retiring during SmackDown; he is no longer a wrestler
WWE decided to make a big announcement during SmackDown. They company spoke about a star's status as a retired wrestler.
Over the last few years, Titus O'Neil has not been active as a wrestler. He started with WWE in 2009 and then went on to achieve fame as part of the Prime Time Players with Darren Young. He also had a bit of time as Titus Worldwide, with his faction receiving some attention. However, he'd never end up working in the main event.
Eventually, he stepped away from active in-ring work and became a Global Ambassador for the company after 2019. Since then, he's represented the brand at different events. He received the Warrior Award on April 6, 2021. He appeared to have retired after receiving the award, but it was never confirmed.
Now, WWE confirmed Titus' retirement status on SmackDown this week. Wade Barrett and Corey Graves spoke about his presence as part of the crowd at the show. They went on to say that he was a superstar turned author. It seems that he is no longer a wrestler and has moved on to what's next for him now.
They also advertised his new book, Wrestling with Fatherhood.
Fans will have to wait to see if O'Neil ever chooses to return to the ring.
