WWE makes interesting move following Drew McIntyre quitting on RAW
WWE has made an interesting move following the announcement from Drew McIntyre that he is quitting on Monday Night RAW this week.
McIntyre has had enough of making himself the biggest star on RAW and still suffering losses due to injustice. Last week, he suffered his worst loss in his entire wrestling career perhaps in his country of Scotland at Clash at the Castle in a singles match against Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship.
McIntyre clawed his way back to the top to get another opportunity at the World Title he lost at WrestleMania 40 due to an attack from CM Punk which led to a cash-in from Priest. However, Punk didn't stop there and came back to haunt the Scottish Psychopath, this time as a referee during the match in Glasgow and costing him the championship once again.
The former WWE Champion would then appear on the following episode of RAW to announce that he couldn't continue any longer and departed from the company. WWE has now dropped a vlog that chronicled Drew McIntyre's heartbreaking homecoming to Scotland for Clash at the Castle.
Drew McIntyre could show up at major promotion after quitting WWE, says veteran
Following Drew McIntyre's announcement of quitting WWE on Monday Night RAW, a wrestling veteran believes seeing him appear in another major wrestling promotion would be cool.
The wrestling veteran who thinks so is Matt Morgan. Speaking over on a recent episode of the Gigantic Pop podcast, Morgan discussed what's next for McIntyre after he announced his departure from the company. He stated that quitting is part of a storyline angle.
Matt Morgan would then respond to a fan's claim of the Scottish Psychopath switching to TNA from WWE. The pitch was for Drew to challenge Moose before eventually CM Punk costs him again with Morgan thinking it was 'cool':
"That would be cool to sell him quitting because nobody in America bought him quitting last night. As soon as you see the GM from RAW come out there and try to talk to him, you know it's obviously a work. We all know it's a work. He just re-signed, right? So, that would be a great way to sell it, having him popping up on TNA. That would be cool, yeah. I like that," he said. [21:13 - 21:35]
Multiple TNA stars such as Joe Hendry, Jordynne Grace, etc, have made the switch to appear on NXT. It would be interesting to see a top main event star such as Drew McIntyre make a move to TNA now.
