WWE may have accidentally spoiled Bayley's SmackDown future

Bayley's future on SmackDown has been up in the air since Nia Jax dropped a bombshell announcement this week. It looks like WWE has accidentally spoiled The Role Model's future on the blue brand.

Bayley's hunt for the WWE Women's Championship continues as she wants another crack at Nia Jax, who dethroned her at SummerSlam this year. Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton made a failed cash-in attempt that night but managed to distract The Role Model, costing her the title.

Jax and Stratton have since been on the same page. During the season premiere episode of SmackDown on USA Network, The Irresistible Force announced that she and Tiffany Stratton will face Naomi and Bayley in a high-stakes match next week.

As per the stipulation, if the babyfaces win, then whoever scored the pinfall will get a title shot at Bad Blood on October 5. However, if they lose, the person to take pinfall out of Naomi and Bayley will have to leave SmackDown permanently.

Interestingly, WWE is currently advertising The Role Model for several future SmackDown shows, which likely suggests the 35-year-old superstar won't leave the blue brand.

However, nothing is set in stone yet as the company often makes changes to its advertising banners. Fans will have to tune in next Friday to find out if either of the two babyfaces will leave SmackDown forever.

Bayley is optimistic about seeing current AEW star back in WWE someday

Bayley may have Naomi by her side, but she misses her frenemy and AEW star Mercedes Moné, who parted ways with WWE on bad terms a few years ago.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, The Role Model revealed that she is hopeful of seeing The CEO return to the Stamford-based promotion as she misses being on the road with her:

"I’ll never give up hope. I’ll never give up hope that she’ll come back. I’ll say yes [if she would come back] because this is her home, this is her dream...I know this is her home and where her heart is, and by her heart I mean me, so she needs to come back to me cause I need her to be my travel partner. I’m gonna say that I’ll never give up hope that she’ll come back."

Mercedes is riding high as the reigning TBS Champion. She recently retained her title against Britt Baker at AEW's biggest event of the year: All In.
