WWE may book Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes III at WrestleMania 41 for major reason, says analyst
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns have headlined WWE WrestleMania for two consecutive years. A WWE analyst thinks they may do it again next year.
While The American Nightmare lost to The Original Tribal Chief at WrestleMania 39, he ended the latter's historic Undisputed WWE Championship reign at the Show of Shows in April this year. On SmackDown last Friday, the two had a confrontation in which Reigns claimed WWE belonged to him. Rhodes responded to the 39-year-old's claims, stating that the company was his until WrestleMania.
While addressing the face-off on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts claimed Rhodes and Reigns have chemistry similar to The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. He pointed out that while the company might be planning a square-off between The Rock and Rhodes or The Final Boss and Reigns for WrestleMania 41, they might realize the best match they could book is a third fight between The American Nightmare and The Original Tribal Chief:
"WWE can have all the plans in the world that they want. WWE can plan to do Rock vs. Cody. WWE can plan to do Rock vs. Roman. But ultimately, when you look at Cody and Roman and you see them in the ring together, you may come to the conclusion, as we head towards April, there's only one duo in the history of WWE that has the ability to headline, to main event three consecutive WrestleManias," he said. Will Roman Reigns betray Cody Rhodes at WWE Bad Blood?
Despite their strained relationship, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will join forces to fight Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match at Bad Blood. On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts addressed the possibility of The Original Tribal Chief turning on his partner.
The 41-year-old claimed a scenario in which Reigns betrays The American Nightmare to side with the current Bloodline exists. However, he believes it is unlikely to happen:
"Is there a world where Roman Reigns joins the current Bloodline, and they all attack Cody? Of course, there's a world where that happens. I don't think that's very likely because I don't think that the WWE would sacrifice what they've got with Roman Reigns, which is finally this ultra-babyface," he said.
While Sam Roberts thinks Roman Reigns can fight Cody Rhodes again at WrestleMania, former WWE host Matt Camp also thinks the match will eventually happen. However, Camp suggested it could take place on the first episode of RAW on Netflix.
