WWE may split popular tag team, not The Judgment Day, following Rhea Ripley's injury, says ex-writer
Rhea Ripley has suffered a legitimate injury and will remain off WWE TV for an undisclosed period. A former WWE writer suggested Creative, led by Triple H, may break up a popular tag team to fill the void left by The Eradicator's absence.
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill have been allies since before WrestleMania 41. They are now in their second reign as Women's Tag Team Champions. However, many expect the two ladies to eventually split and feud with each other. On his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. addressed that possibility, pointing out that the company may speed up Belair and Cargill's potential breakup following Rhea Ripley's injury.
The Hollywood star suggested The EST may be needed to fill the void left by Ripley in the Women's World Championship picture:
"I think when it's ready, this will blow up and they'll no longer be champions. Bianca Belair is a singles top-shelf talent. She should be competing for the Women's World Championship. Now with Rhea Ripley hurt, maybe they speed up the Jade storyline, break them up, so Bianca can get through with Jade and then go on to that," he said. [5:31 - 5:47]
Did WWE plant seeds for Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill's split on RAW?
After successfully defending their Women's Tag Team Championship at Crown Jewel, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill confronted the Women's World Champion Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on RAW.
During the confrontation, Morgan told Belair that while she thinks she is the best, her tag team partner believes the same about herself. The 30-year-old claimed the Women's Tag Team Champions were just pretending to like each other. Meanwhile, the only thing that is keeping them together is the title. The Women's World Champion also warned Cargill that The EST would stab her in the back.
The segment led many fans and experts to believe the company was planting the seeds for Cargill and Belair's split. These speculations were supported by the two ladies having a brief face-off during the number-one contender's Battle Royal.
It would be interesting to see if the Women's Tag Team Champions would soon break up.
