WWE name has been "reprimanded" for his comments about firing CM PunkĀ
A WWE name has revealed that he was reprimanded for his comments about the company needing to fire CM Punk. This was disclosed during this week's episode of SmackDown.
At Clash at the Castle, Punk's interference cost Drew McIntyre, the hometown favorite, his chance at winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Damian Priest. This came after he inserted himself into the match as a referee, when Eddie Orengo, the original official, was knocked out. It distracted McIntyre and didn't let him pick up the win on Priest. Wade Barrett was furious when Priest used it to get the win. He called for Punk to be fired immediately.
On WWE SmackDown, it was revealed that Barrett had been "reprimanded" and that he was going to be a professional and move on from what had happened at Clash at the Castle. Barrett was furious on behalf of McIntyre.
While Corey Graves was welcoming fans to the show, Barrett made the revelation that he had been reprimanded and had "crossed a line."
"Especially for the UK contingent, temperatures were at a boiling point at the end of the event. Maybe I personally crossed a line as an analyst. I said somethings I probably should not have said. I have now cooled down. I have been reprimanded, but I am a pro and shall move on."
What did Wade Barrett say about CM Punk?
Barrett was furious, as he said at the end of the Clash at the Castle event. He called out WWE and asked them to show what they were made of by firing Punk.
"That is the new number one. There is a huge shadow cast upon this entire industry thanks to the actions of CM Punk. CM Punk needs to be fired by WWE management."
He went on to say that he was not booked for Clash at the Castle and that Punk had ruined the event.
"What is CM Punk doing here? He wasn't booked for SmackDown. He wasn't booked for media. He wasn't booked for Clash at the Castle. Are you trying to tell me he got a private jet all the way over to Scotland just to watch the show? He ruined this event."
It's safe to say WWE didn't take his comments well, and as a result, he's been reprimanded.
