WWE needs major 38-year-old star to return after nearly a year, says Vince Russo (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo has said that the company required a major star back on the roster. He felt a top female star like Charlotte Flair would hold the roster together.

The SmackDown women's roster is stacked with talented stars. Nia Jax is the WWE Women's Champion, while Tiffany Stratton is Miss Money in the Bank. However, the division is missing The Queen, who has been on the shelf for almost a year.

During this week's BroDown podcast, Russo mentioned in detail that WWE needed Charlotte back in the ranks. He felt she was a genuine main eventer, and her star power would boost the locker room situation. The 38-year-old was last in action on the December 8, 2023, edition of the blue brand in a losing effort against Asuka.

"I am a big fan of hers [Charlotte Flair]. And yeah, man, they definitely, definitely could use her back on the roster," he said. [From 23:20 onwards]

This week, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis introduced the new Women's United States Championship, promising that the new title would mean more opportunities for the roster.

It will be interesting to see if the creative team uses this new title to write Charlotte Flair back into the main roster.
