WWE "needs a way out of" Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther at Crown Jewel, according to Hall of Famer
Cody Rhodes and Gunther had a nice little exchange on the latest edition of WWE RAW. The two will battle at Crown Jewel, and a Hall of Famer thinks it's a bad idea.
Bully Ray has been analyzing WWE’s products for long enough to understand what works and what doesn’t in the industry. Triple H recently unveiled the new Crown Jewel Championship for the men and women of WWE, and fans will see the World Heavyweight Champion and Cody Rhodes battle it out for the men’s title.
On paper, the match looks like a classic waiting to happen. However, according to the Hall of Famer, the booking has a major flaw.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray talked about the complications of Crown Jewel's Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther match. He stated that the creative team would have a tough time crowning a winner.
"If Cody were to beat GUNTHER clean, that definitely takes away from GUNTHER's mystique right now," Bully said. "If GUNTHER beats Cody clean, that puts a serious chink in Cody's armor. 'Cause now you got a guy who could be walking around going, 'I don't want this Saudi belt because I beat him clean in the middle.'... You need a way out of this." [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
He provided a solution to the problem by stating that an unclean finish could help both champions retain their credibility. Kevin Owens could be used to help The Ring General pick up the win over Cody Rhodes.
"I think at the Saudi show, neither one can get the win clean," Bully said. "The way out of it, a little chicanery, maybe a little ref bump, or behind the ref's back, something. Owens interferes. It's quick. Owens and Rhodes have the animosity; GUNTHER gets the win, raises the championship... now we're off to the raises with Kevin and Cody." [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
WWE fans will likely stay glued to their screens for the big match between The American Nightmare and The Ring General. The result will help one of the stars earn some bragging rights.

Bully Ray provided a neat solution to the problem at hand. Fans could see Kevin Owens appear to cost The American Nightmare the match. However, KO isn’t too fond of traveling to Saudi Arabia.
This could call for a different finish where the World Heavyweight Champion’s next challenger interrupts the match. That man could be none other than Damian Priest, who lost the title to The Ring General thanks to Finn Balor.
Cody Rhodes could win the contest after The Archer of Infamy walks out to stare down the World Heavyweight Champion. It would be a good way to get the WWE Crown Jewel Championship on Cody.
