WWE officially changes superstar's name ahead of major match; star reacts
A WWE star's name has been changed ahead of an upcoming big match, and the star has reacted to it.
The company often changes stars' names before they make their debut. Now, Destinee Brown, one of the top names among the current Performance Center stars, has seen her name changed. This came after the company filed trademarks for two names: Kali Armstrong and Niko Vance.
Brown took to X to announce that she would be making her debut in a major match on NXT Level Up ahead on the September 20 episode of the show. The show airs after SmackDown.
She also re-introduced herself to fans, saying that the company had officially changed her name. She revealed that her name was now Kali Armstrong.
The post may be seen below.
"π£οΈ ALLOW ME TO REINTRODUCE MYSLEF! π£οΈ My name is Kali Armstrong! WWE Superstar! πͺπΎπ« My debut match on LevelUp will air next Friday, September 20th on Peacock at 10pm EST/ 7pm PST! Whose ready to take this journey with me! βΊοΈππΎπ," she wrote.
It remains to be seen whether she gets pushed to the main NXT show or directly to the main roster soon. It's expected to take some time now as the star has only recently begun her career.
Kali Armstrong is 30 and has proclaimed herself the next WWE Superstar
Already ahead of her debut, the star has shown confidence in proclaiming herself as the next big Superstar.
She only recently turned 30. Given the company's insistence that mostly younger stars perform on NXT regularly, fans will have to wait to see whether this means that she'll be pushed to the main roster directly.
Ultimately, Triple H and Shawn Michaels will decide how far to push her.
