WWE pays tribute to Afa during SmackDown

WWE Hall of Famer and Wild Samoan Afa unfortunately passed away recently. WWE honored the wrestling legend with a tribute on SmackDown tonight.

Afa and Sika formed the legendary tag team, The Wild Samoans. The duo were destructive forces of nature in the ring. They struck fear into the hearts of their opponents as they established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams of all time.

Afa and Sika also belonged to the legendary Anoa'i family which dominated the world of professional wrestling for several generations and produced mammoth superstars like The Rock, Roman Reigns, Rikishi, The Usos and many more. During The Wild Samoans' time in WWE, they won the tag titles three times and were eventually inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007.

Earlier this year, the world was shocked to learn that Sika, who was also Roman Reigns' father, had passed away on June 25th. Just when the world was recuperating from this tragic loss, the news broke out that Afa Anoa'i had also passed away.

Given his legendary status, WWE paid tribute to Afa with a beautiful video showcasing his life and legacy. The video played during SmackDown as the fans chanted "Thank you Afa."

It's sad to hear of Afa's passing and we send our deepest condolences to the family in these difficult times.
