Wrestling veteran claims he is impressed by WWE star Pat McAfee

Pat McAfee received much praise from former WWE legendary commentator, Jim Ross on the latter's podcast.

McAfee started his journey on the main roster as a commentator alongside Michael Cole on SmackDown in April 2021. The duo currently calls the action every week on Monday Night RAW.

While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast earlier this year, Ross mentioned he was impressed with McAfee's work. The 72-year-old praised the latter for working on his craft. The AEW commentator referred to the former punter for the Indianapolis Colts as a supreme talent who has been a good hire for WWE.

"I'm impressed. Pat McAfee has impressed me, no doubt about it, with his work. Surprising how good he is already. He pays attention, he studies. I even noticed on the show that airs on ESPN, at noon Eastern time that he incorporates a lot of wrestling jargon, and language, into his show. So, he's living the dream. And he seems to be respectful. Again, I appreciate guys that study the game and have product knowledge. And he's doing that. Good hire for WWE. He's just a supreme talent," Ross said. In addition to commentary, McAfee has wrestled a few matches over the years. His most recent in-ring appearance was in this year's Men's Royal Rumble Match, in which he eliminated himself. It remains to be seen if he will return to the squared circle in the near future.
