WWE playing favorites with Sami Zayn could hurt high-potential talent, feels former company employee (Exclusive)

WWE star and current Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn defeated Bron Breakker this past Saturday. The two stars met at Money in the Bank for the Intercontinental Title. Vince Russo has now commented on the ongoing rivalry.

This week on RAW, Zayn addressed the fans in Canada. The Master Strategist claimed he was not the underdog anymore but rather a fighting champion. Meanwhile, Breakker showed up and laid waste to the 39-year-old.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, former WWE writer Vince Russo said WWE dropped the ball, handing wins to Sami Zayn at the expense of Bron Breakker. He felt Breakker could draw a ton of money for the company and should be booked better.

"Oh, man. They've lost their minds with Sami Zayn. I'm all for having favorites, bro, but not at the expense of talents that can really, really be money, man. I'm really, really sorry, bro." [From 5:45 onwards]

During the discussion, Russo detailed that Zayn got over with fans because of his comedy acts with The Bloodline. The veteran writer believed that Zayn beating formidable competitors like Gunther and Bron Breakker didn't make sense.

"I have no idea. They got Sami over on his comedy, not on his freaking wrestling. Comedy act in The Bloodline. That's what got him over. Now, all of a sudden, he went from that to beating Gunther and Bron Breakker. Come on." [From 6:00 onwards]

The attack on RAW proves that Breakker is still not done with Zayn. It will be interesting to see whether the two stars go at it again in the coming weeks.
