WWE is playing with fire regarding CM Punk, legend explains
All signs point to CM Punk's highly anticipated showdown with Seth Rollins happening sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, the legendary wrestler Tommy Dreamer explains why he feels WWE is playing with fire regarding The Best in the World, who, at this point, is evidently a bulletproof babyface.
As Dreamer observed, Punk and Rollins both made their case on WWE RAW this past Monday. However, The Visionary is only spitting facts; Tommy Dreamer drew comparisons to Drew McIntyre. The veteran pointed out how it appears the babyfaces are not exactly being honest. While this makes for compelling television, the ECW legend feels that it can backfire, as the fanbase could end up getting disillusioned with The Straight Edge Superstar.
Speaking on the Busted Open After Dark podcast, Tommy Dreamer noticed how the chants grew quieter for The Best in the World. Furthermore, Seth Rollins is on the right, and even though fans did chant for Punk during the former World Heavyweight Champion's promo, the Chicago native could lose some followers who do not fit into the ride-or-die section:
"I'm believing Seth Rollins," Dreamer began. "And even then when they start chanting for CM Punk, he's like, 'Go ahead. Cheer for him,' and here's where I worry. Those 'CM Punk' chants weren't as loud as they were or are everytime CM Punk goes out there. And I'm like, 'Did I just mess with one of my babyfaces?' One of my top drawing babyfaces." Punk and Rollins were separated throughout the night after last week's altercation. It remains to be seen when they will get to lock horns in the ring.
Is Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk happening at WWE RAW's Netflix debut?
On January 6, 2025, the first episode of next year's RAW, will one of the most attention-grabbing athletes in sports entertainment square off? Their feud has been brewing for years, and it is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of WWE's biggest dream matches through the lens of fans.
As per Sportskeeda Wrestling's Dr. Chris Featherstone, World Wrestling Entertainment's new era in the Netflix streaming platform will commence with this match on the card:
"Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk is currently slated to occur on the debut episode of#WWERaw on Netflix, I have been informed," Featherstone wrote.
While the bout was originally planned for The Show of Shows, it appears those plans may have changed. Considering the distance between now and WrestleMania 41 in Paradise, Nevada, perhaps this may be the logical booking.
