WWE possibly working on huge moment for CM Punk; wrestling veteran claims it "depends on the situation"

Veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer recently discussed WWE's plans with CM Punk. The star returned to the company last year at Survivor Series after a nine-year-long hiatus.

Punk has been a major star for the company since his return. He had a high-profile feud with Drew McIntyre that ran through the summer, culminating in a Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood. The Second City Saint won the encounter but took some time off to recover from the physical beatdown he took during the bout.

On a recent episode of Keepin' IT 100, Meltzer mentioned that WWE probably had big plans for The Straight Edge Superstar. He was confident that Punk would win one of the world titles in the future. The veteran journalist pointed out that WrestleMania 41 would be a good time for the star to finally win championship gold again.

"As far as Punk, I mean it depends on the situation. I would say, yes. I would expect to put the title on him at some point. I think that crowning achievement is probably a good story that they could do. So yes, I think they should do it. It has to be the right time. I don't think right now is the right time. I think six months from now, maybe WrestleMania would be the right time." [From 0:54 to 1:20]

CM Punk had a confrontation with Seth Rollins

On the October 7 edition of Monday Night RAW, CM Punk announced that he was taking time off to recover from the physical toll the Hell in a Cell match took on him.

Just as he was making his way to the back, Seth Rollins' music hit, and the Visionary came face-to-face with Punk. The two exchanged tense looks before Rollins walked down to the ring.

The former World Heavyweight Champion then got on the mic and wished Punk well. He hoped that the Best in the World would come back so that he could beat him up and send him home for good.

CM Punk and Seth Rollins were supposed to feud on the Road to WrestleMania XL, leading to a match at The Show of Shows. However, those plans got nixed after the former AEW star suffered an injury at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event.

It will be interesting to see if CM Punk returns and renews his rivalry with Seth Rollins heading into WrestleMania season.
