WWE posts heartbreaking tweet about Dominik Mysterio; deletes it after it receives over 250k views
In a weird turn of events, WWE has deleted a post about Dominik Mysterio on its official X/Twitter handle. The post looked back at an emotional moment involving Dominik and his father Rey Mysterio back in 2019.
At Clash at the Castle 2022, Dominik turned heel by attacking Edge and Rey Mysterio. Fast forward to today, Dirty Dom is one of the biggest stars in all of WWE. There was a time, though, when he hadn't embraced his dark side yet and was the apple of Rey's eye.
On the November 25, 2019, edition of WWE RAW, Rey Mysterio defeated AJ Styles to become the new US Champion. After the match, Dominik joined his father in the ring and celebrated the big win with him as the capacity crowd collectively cheered for the duo.
WWE recently uploaded the heartfelt moment on its X handle as a throwback post. The caption consisted of a couple of smileys, hinting that WWE was heartbroken over Dominik turning on Rey. Strangely, WWE ended up deleting the post after it had gotten massive traction.
Check out the screengrab of the now-deleted post below:
Dominik Mysterio hates his father with all his heart
Dominik isn't the ideal son that he used to be back in the day. The Judgment Day member turned on his father two years ago and has been verbally bashing him ever since. Dominik never shies away from publicly insulting his father and has berated him in multiple interviews.
In an interview on The Schmo, Dom Dom called his father "washed." Here's his comment:
"He’s old, he’s washed. He’s still hiding behind that ugly mask. He’s ugly and that’s why he’s hiding behind that mask. He needs to retire, he needs to go home. Just let me do what I do best and that is put the Mysterio name on my back and carry it to places it’s never been before." [H/T - Fightful]
Rey couldn't have predicted Dominik Mysterio turning on him even in his wildest dreams. Judging by their current relationship, it's almost a given that they aren't going to mend fences anytime soon.
What must be the reason behind WWE deleting the post about Dominik Mysterio and his father? Sound off!
