WWE presenter gives clarity on CM Punk's current status after Money in the Bank
WWE star CM Punk attacked Drew McIntyre this week at Money in the Bank. Punk showed up to ruin Drew's chances after the latter decided to cash in his Money in the Bank contract.
Drew McIntyre became Mr. Money in the Bank earlier tonight. However, his celebrations were short-lived as he tried to cash in his contract. The title match between Damian Priest and Seth Rollins became a triple threat, allowing Punk to drop in and take a steel chair to Drew's back. He also slammed The Scottish Warrior with the World Heavyweight Title, allowing Priest to hit the South of Heaven Chokeslam and pick up the win.
During the post-show presentation, WWE correspondent Jackie Redmond pointed out how Punk dodged the question about his return. She clarified that the star was apparently not yet cleared for in-ring action, but stated that the WWE Universe hopes it was just a matter of days at this point. Jackie then commented that he looked in great shape during his appearance at Money in the Bank.
"CM Punk, as of this moment, is not cleared for in-ring action. So, it can't be solved in the ring just yet. He was hesitant in his post-press conference to give us an update on his status. Big E feels Drew McIntyre doesn't care about CM Punk's health
During the same discussion, former WWE Champion Big E detailed that this situation had escalated way too much. He felt Drew now didn't care if Punk was cleared for in-ring action or not, and just wanted to inflict damage on The Straightedge Superstar.
"Here's the thing, does Drew care that Punk's not cleared? He's in the building. He arrived in the building, he's cost Drew once again, and I don't think it really matters that he's not cleared. I think this thing is escalating, it's getting to a boiling point that is honestly a little bit uncomfortable. It's great for fans but when you're sitting right here, it's a bit much."
