WWE questions former champion’s actions last week on SmackDown
WWE has questioned a former champion following his recent actions on Friday Night SmackDown. The star in question was in a Triple-Threat Match last week on the blue brand.
Grayson Waller won the WWE Tag Team Championship earlier this year at WrestleMania XL with his partner Austin Theory. However, after a lackluster run as champions, A-Town Down Under lost the titles to DIY on the July 5 edition of the blue brand's show. The Stamford-based company has been teasing a potential breakup of the duo for several months.
On last week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory locked horns in a Triple-Threat Match, which included Kevin Owens as the third participant. Although the two tag team partners had planned to stick together and take out the former Universal Champion, miscommunication between them allowed Owens to secure the win against all odds.
WWE recently shared a clip from the match on its official Instagram account, questioning Grayson Waller's actions. The video showed the Aussie trying to steal the win after Theory flattened Owens with a Rolling Blockbuster. The former United States Champion, however, broke the pin, which led to a heated exchange of words between the former champions.
"What were you doing there, @graysonwallerwwe?? 😳," read the caption.

Wrestling veteran suggests WWE make major changes for Grayson Waller and Austin Theory
A split between Waller and Theory looks to be on the cards. It appears the latter will turn baby face, and the Aussie Icon will continue as a heel. However, veteran journalist, Bill Apter, believes WWE could use the two in opposite roles in the future.
During a recent episode of SmackTalk, Apter stated it would be better for the two superstars to split up and compete in singles competition. He praised Grayson Waller for his in-ring work, claiming he might be a great babyface in the future. On the other hand, the 78-year-old referred to Theory as an incredible heel.
"Grayson Waller is a hell of a competitor. If he somewhere down the line turns babyface, I think we'd have a great character that the fans could really go for. Austin Theory is an incredible heel and he's not being used like they should use him in my opinion. Once again, he should be on the singles ratings right now. So, I see a breakup," said Apter.
