WWE quickly rejected a major pitch involving Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, according to legend
A WWE Hall of Famer has revealed how the promotion once turned down her pitch that would have seen her reunite with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Trish Stratus added that she had a fun backstage segment in mind for the RAW 1000 episode back in 2012 that would have made a lot of fans nostalgic.
Back in the Attitude Era in the 90s and early 2000s, Stratus, McMahon, and The Game were some of the biggest attractions on WWE TV. While Stephanie McMahon and Triple H eventually transitioned to important backstage roles in the promotion, Trish Stratus still makes occasional appearances to pop the crowds.
In a recent chat with Inside The Ropes, Stratus recalled her appearance at RAW 1000 back in 2012. She revealed that she had something different in mind that would have seen her share the screen with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a backstage segment. Trish Stratus added that WWE, however, turned down her pitch and went ahead with an idea that didn't have McMahon in the mix.
"I had proposed something—tell me how this would’ve played out. I suggested that Stephanie and I could’ve been backstage, and I’d be showing her a few yoga moves, and then Triple H walks in. Wouldn’t that have been much better? Right? Like, super cute. It would’ve been one of those ‘if you know, you know’ moments. As you can tell, when I did my comeback, I love those ‘if you know, you know’ moments. That would’ve been a fun callback for me, personally. But anyway, it didn’t happen and they rejected it. You know how it is, that’s how it goes sometimes. Have you ever heard that? Sometimes it just doesn’t happen. Anyway, it was fun!" said Trish Stratus. (H/T - Ringside News)
Grayson Waller wants Trish Stratus to appear on his talk show in WWE
In a recent interview, Grayson Waller stated that though he has hosted big names like John Cena and Cody Rhodes on the Grayson Waller Effect, his dream guest was Trish Stratus. The SmackDown Superstar added that he has tried multiple times to get Stratus to make an appearance on his talk show but in vain.
"If I had to put this list two years ago when I first got The Grayson Waller Effect, it's [John] Cena, Cody [Rhodes], Shawn [Michaels], Logan [Paul], the Mount Rushmore basically, that would be great. I've always said the dream guest is Trish Stratus. I've been saying it multiple times, and unfortunately, hasn't happened yet. I'm going to keep saying it. Trish, come on, please be on my show. Let me give you the Grayson Waller rub."
With WrestleMania 41 season inching closer as we head into 2025, it remains to be seen if WWE brings back Trish Stratus in any form.
