WWE RAW has established 53-year-old as a major force, feels Bill Apter (Exclusive)
Legendary journalist Bill Apter believes the latest episode of WWE RAW has proved beyond doubt that a particular name has what it takes. According to him, the name in question, Joe Tessitore, is similar to another legend.
Joe Tessitore made his debut recently in the Stamford-based promotion, handling the role of lead commentator on RAW. While the 53-year-old's WWE arrival has led to criticism, Bill Apter has unflinchingly supported him. Apter believes his latest on-screen appearance on RAW ultimately proves his merit.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, the veteran journalist stated that Tessitore's style resembled Gene Okerlund's.
"The first week it was a little rocky, but the second week... He's got that, and I mentioned this before: he's got that [Gene] Okerlund flair in his voice. And he has already adapted to this, this past Monday Night RAW. I thought he was really, really... his game was up. And that delivery, that makes you want to listen and want to watch; he's got that. The only other guy that they had for a while, and unfortunately, he left, was Mauro Ranallo," Apter said. [25:35 onwards]
As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for Joe Tessitore in WWE.
