WWE releases heartbreaking footage of Sami Zayn following RAW loss
WWE recently shared a poignant backstage video of Sami Zayn following his defeat on Monday Night RAW. The 40-year-old superstar challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event.
This marked the first clash between them since their electrifying encounter at WrestleMania XL, where Zayn dethroned Gunther and ended his historic reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion. However, Sami couldn't repeat his success on RAW, succumbing to The Ring General's sleeper hold.
WWE took to their Instagram account earlier today to share a heartbreaking video of Sami Zayn following the loss. In the backstage clip, the former Undisputed Tag Team Champion is seen down on his knees, looking absolutely gutted.
"Where does @samizayn go from here? 😬," read the caption.

WWE veteran reveals he is a massive Sami Zayn fan
Sami Zayn, one of the most beloved babyfaces on the roster, has garnered admiration from wrestling veteran Eric Bischoff.
Earlier this year, on the 83 Weeks podcast, the former RAW General Manager expressed his fondness for the former Honorary Uce, recalling their collaboration in 2019. Bischoff praised Zayn's creativity, wrestling psychology, and ability to evoke strong emotions in any situation.
"I'm just a massive fan of Sami Zayn. I got to work with Sami a little bit back in 2019, and just an amazingly fun guy to work with because he's super creative; I mean, he's a very, very creative guy. I don't know if he learned it natural or if he was born with the gift, or he's worked at the gift, or a combination of the two. But he really understands psychology and how to get the most emotion out of a scene, out of a match, out of a backstage situation. I just think the world of him," he said. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
Following his loss to Bron Breakker at SummerSlam and a subsequent defeat in a 2-out-of-3 Falls match, Zayn set his sights on the World Heavyweight Championship. It remains to be seen what lies ahead for the former Bloodline member after his loss to The Ring General on RAW.
