WWE replaces top champion in major match next week on SmackDown after injury

A top star was left unable to compete after an attack on WWE SmackDown, and the champion has now been replaced by Nick Aldis. The announcement comes after the star suffered an injury.

On WWE SmackDown, Bianca Belair was competing in a US Women's Championship Tournament match, when she was interrupted by a video emanating from the back which showed that Jade Cargill had been attacked and put through a car windscreen. Nick Aldis rushed to the scene, as did Belair after abandoning her match, which Green won.

Nick Aldis rushed her off in an ambulance and Bianca Belair accompanied her. There's currently an evaluation ongoing of the star's status after the attack. At this time, who attacked her is unclear, as is the seriousness of her injury.

In an update, it was announced that Jade Cargill had been replaced by WWE in next week's match. The star had to be withdrawn because of the injury and will be unable to compete in the first round of the tournament.

With Belair and Cargill both out of the tournament, it remains to be seen who's the one who caused the issues for the two stars. At this time, nothing further is known about who attacked Cargill.
