WWE reportedly planning a major change for NXT after years (Exclusive)
NXT has been one of the most consistent aspects of WWE's product for a good part of a decade now. With a new era set to begin in a few days on the CW Network, it was reported exclusively by WrestleVotes on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Backstage Pass that there is a major change being planned.
This week's WrestleVotes Radio on Backstage Pass spoke in detail about NXT and WWE's plans for the now-iconic brand. After starting as a game show, it transformed into WWE's developmental brand before turning into a third brand of its own. While it maintains its status as a developmental territory, it features stars on a very high level while also giving a start to future superstars.
Apart from just a major update on the future of Level Up, JoeyVotes and TC of WrestleVotes reported that the brand will be getting a big appearance glow-up. The long-time yellow colours will likely go away and a new logo will take its place. The overall presentation of the brand is set to change as it transitions into a new era in the CW Network.
CM Punk will be the special guest referee for a big title match on the NXT on CW debut
Roxanne Perez vs Giulia is going to be a blockbuster title match, with the highly-anticipated Stephanie Vaquer making her presence known. However, even CM Punk is set to rock the CW Network debut.
It was first reported by Ibou of WrestlePurists that CM Punk would be serving as the special guest referee of a match at the NXT on CW debut. As the USA Network era came to an end, it was revealed on the final episode that CM Punk would be the special guest referee of the NXT Championship match between Ethan Page and Trick Williams.
Ethan Page made an instant splash from AEW after signing with WWE and has maintained his position at the top. All of that could change as Trick Williams looks to regain the title that was once his.
