WWE's Nick Aldis needs to wrestle, World Champion says
The Chief Content Officer of WWE Paul 'Triple H' Levesque introduced Nick Aldis as SmackDown's General Manager in the show's season premiere on October 13, 2023. Aldis has been a mainstay of the company ever since, as an on-screen authority figure.
Aldis was a notable in-ring performer in the past. NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Thom Latimer feels WWE should consider letting the SmackDown GM work matches again.
Thom Latimer, who was once signed to WWE as a developmental talent under the ring name, Kenneth Cameron, discussed Nick Aldis on MuscleManMalcolm. He admitted that there was a certain degree of envy he had towards Aldis for being an "all-around talent," and felt that the GM of the blue brand "deserves" to be utilized as a wrestler.
"Never say never, right? It’s wrestling. I would absolutely love to see that, and I feel like Nick [Aldis] deserves it. I mean Nick, and I’ve said this before too, he’s a guy you could put in any position, he can do everything, he’s good at everything. He’s just an all-around talent. There’s a lot of qualities of Nick that I wish that I had, and so I also, like I said, I feel like he deserves it," he said.
The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion was not sure if WWE would eventually use Nick Aldis as an in-ring performer but reiterated that it needed to happen and that it would mean a lot to the SmackDown General Manager.
"Will he get it? I don’t know because again, it’s wrestling. But it is also wrestling, so you never know. But I mean there is money sat on the table there, and they could go that route, and hopefully they will. I know to him, too, it would mean the world," Latimer added. [From 17:02 to 18:08]

Nick Aldis talks about potential matches with Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and LA Knight
When talking about his in-ring career with Inside The Ropes earlier this year, Nick Aldis brought up his history with LA Knight in TNA, and Cody Rhodes in the independent circuit.
He then got to Roman Reigns, with whom Aldis believes there is a "palpable chemistry" and that working a program with the OTC could lead to good numbers should the storyline warrant it. However, the SmackDown GM added that there was no rush to get there right away.
"I really love where things are at for me at the moment. I think we've really only scratched the surface. The chemistry with Roman [Reigns] I felt was very obvious and palpable. There's something there. There's a history with Cody [Rhodes]. There's history with LA Knight. There's a lot of things that can be done. At the same time, there doesn't need to be any rush to do any of those things," he said.
Needless to say, having completed a year in the Stamford-based promotion as the General Manager of the blue brand, fans have grown quite fond of Nick Aldis.
