WWE's Seth Rollins reveals when he hit decline, opens up about rough injury recovery
It is 2024 and Seth Rollins remains one of WWE's go-to wrestlers for a bevy of reasons. According to the former World Heavyweight Champion himself, though, his prime is behind him.
While Seth Rollins does consider his current work good for his age, he admitted taking bumps is not as easy as it was many years ago. He says that everything began to catch up with him when he turned 35 years of age.
In a sit-down interview with The Pivot Podcast, The Visionary addressed his in-ring career at this stage. Rollins, 38, admitted he cannot fly around like he used to, having wrestled for 21 years now. He noted that one positive aspect today is that his schedule is more relaxed:
"I'm fighting against time. I can't do what I did when I was 21 no more. My body don't do those things. I'm still fairly athletic for my age, but I don't recover nearly as fast as I did, I can tell you that," Seth Rollins reflected. "When I turned 35, that was it for me. They say, 'You'll feel it one day.' I'm like, 'I'm fine.' At 35, I turned around and I'm like, 'Okay. I get it. I understand that.' Finally, it all caught up to me. I can't just throw caution to the wind and go head first in there anymore." [From 32:49 to 33:23]
Seth Rollins has not slain the monster of WWE RAW
There is a new monster in the block. Despite technically losing the Last Man Standing match to Braun Strowman in September, thanks to Seth Rollins, 'Big' Bronson Reed survived it. On the other hand, Strowman got sidelined.
At Crown Jewel, Reed attempted to knock Rollins down a peg, but it was the former World Heavyweight Champion who prevailed. Unfortunately for the latter, though, The Auszilla is far from done with him.
This past Monday, Damian Priest won a Fatal 4-Way number one contender's match. Seth Rollins nearly had it, but Bronson Reed made sure he did not walk away as the next challenger to Gunther. A rematch between the two contested under some form of stipulation appears likely at this point. Survivor Series: WarGames is right around the corner.
